Property Development Water Supply
After a golf course was forced to relinquish its water right due to regulatory action, WestWater Research evaluated the alternative supply options. We identified low-cost and dependable sources by researching local water rights, reuse options, and municipal sources. Ultimately, we negotiated the purchase of water rights and coordinated the transactions and regulatory approval.
Environmental Mitigation
A new power generation facility was faced with environmental mitigation requirements. Working with the power company, WestWater Research developed a water acquisition strategy and facilitated the transfer of water rights to environmental uses. Our knowledge and technical expertise allowed us to quickly identify candidate water rights that met the mitigation requirements and the conditions of the regulatory process. The company saved both valuable time and money.
Water Project Finance
A water development firm and a ground water district entered into a public/private partnership to expand an existing ground water banking program. WestWater Research was brought in to provide analysis to assist in rating a new bond issue used to finance the expansion.
Industrial Water Supply
A high-profile property development company was concerned about the impact its reputation might have on water prices and public perceptions. WestWater Research
contacted candidate water right owners and entered into confidential negotiations giving this high-profile client the low profile it needed for a successful project.
Water pricing and Valuation
A municipality holding extensive rights to surface water was interested in pursuing bulk water exports. WestWater Research provided a comprehensive analysis of
water marketing options and the bulk water export industry which provided the municipality with price information which was crucial in negotiating a water export contract.
