GIS Technician/Data Manager

Ms. Painter has a background in water resources science and management. She started her career as a data entry technician for an environmental testing lab and followed that with two summer internship positions for the State of Idaho. She worked on the evaluation of the widespread problem of nitrate contamination in the Snake River Plain of Southern Idaho and on the evaluation of the relative health of Idaho's rivers and streams. Ms. Painter graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's of Science in Geography, then worked as a hydrologic technician for the Bureau of Reclamation in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Ms. Painter began at WestWater as an intern in July 2006 and currently is working as an associate. Her duties consist of producing maps for various projects, managing a database of water right transfers from around the West, and assisting wherever her background in water resources geography is advantageous. She is continuing her graduate school education part-time with the expectation of earning a master's degree in Water Resources Policy and Management from Oregon State University in June 2008. Her thesis relates to the role of GIS for a potential groundwater market in Oregon's Umatilla Basin.
